The Department of Psychology

Professor Iryna P. Manokha is the head of the department.

These are highly qualified professors, 80% having scientific degrees, providing professional training of students.

Special attention is paid at the department to scientific and research work. The teaching staff works on the common topic Personality in the System of Modern Psychological and Pedagogical Technologies of Education.

Professors of the department are experts in different fields of psychology: medical psychology, pedagogical psychology, practical psychology, training technologies in psychology.

Results of research work of the professors are comprised in 42 manuals, textbooks and lectures.

Teaching process is realized at specialized laboratories, namely laboratory of experimental psychology, laboratory of applied and practical psychology and laboratory of professional efficiency of psychologists.

Laboratory of experimental psychology was established in 2001 by prof. V. Shcherbakov. It has three generations of diagnostic devices from the 60-s to the present-day elaborations. There is also an electronic library of literature on psychology with more than 600 items.

Training centre makes it possible to hold trainings both during class (class disciplines) and independent (Psychological Service) studies. Students can attend communication trainings, trainings of personal development, art-therapy, symbolic dramas, etc.

Individual consulting room is for senior students to consult students from other institutes and departments, with experienced professors supervising the process.

Professors of the Department of Psychology and students of the corresponding speciality set up Psychological Service in October of 2005. The Service is aimed at professional and personal development of students, post-graduate students, university personnel, etc.

The Department of Psychology has post-graduate students by the speciality 19.00.07 Pedagogical and Age Psychology.
