Students
have an opportunity to practice English and study abroad directly in the
language environment in England - Center for English Language studying Eurospeak
Language School.
The
staff of the Institute supports the creative and scientific relations with
leading domestic and foreign universities and research institutions.
Institute
of Psychology, Social and Political Sciences provides
students with computer classes, modern educational facilities, including
specialized classrooms: a laboratory of experimental psychology, training
centre, individual counseling office.

In
the laboratory of experimental psychology three generations of diagnostic devices are available
from the 60-s years of the XX century to modern scientific developments. In
particular, the technical
base of the Resource Center is equipped with computer psychophysiological
diagnostic device "diagnosis-1”, a technique to study psycho-emotional state of man "M. Liusher’s Test”, a technique to study intelligence etc.
In
addition to the base of computer techniques, there is a base of blank materials
in the laboratory in different methods of psychological diagnosis.
Electronic
library fund of psychological literature “Ellibra” is regularly updated, which
numbers more than 600 books, manuals, textbooks, lectures, teaching materials.

In the training
center training exercises are
held. Students have an
opportunity to attend trainings
in communication, personal development, art therapy etc.


In the individual
counseling office senior students under the supervision of lecturers of the
department and psychologists of Psychological service have the opportunity to
conduct individual counseling with students of other professions.

Since
October 2005 there has been organized
a Psychological Service
by lecturers in
psychology and students specializing in psychology. It aims at professional and personal
development of students, applicants, employees of the University through psychological
impact.
The main directions of
Psychological Service include:
– Psycho-preventive work: psycho-counseling and psycho-correction to order of lecturers and students with personal problems aiming at conflicts resolution, establishment of interpersonal relations;
– Psycho-diagnostic work:
first year students' testing in order to identify skills to the objectives of
the chosen profession; and graduates testing - to identify the dynamics of personality
development and to provide recommendations on their future employment;
– Psycho-remedial work – interactive
education depending on the specific training of students. There are trainings,
business games of general (self-regulation skills training, communication,
conflict resolution) and special orientation (negotiation skills training,
professional skills development etc.);
– Research work in various
areas of applied psychology, primarily associated with the development of
psychological tools to optimize training and education of students of higher
educational institution;
– Career guidance.

Non-academic
activities of students
Student
groups: to develop and enhance the scientific interest of future psychologists
there exist the following student groups: “Practical Psychology” (Head -
Assistant Professor T.V. Karpenko), "History of Psychology",
"Research Technology and sociological imagination" (supervisors –
Assistant Professor V.A. Mozharovskyy).
