Institute of Law
provides training for specialists in the following
direction:
Law
Training is provided according to educational and
qualification levels:
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and also second
higher education.
Education − full-time, extra-mural.

– Organization and management of legal
work;
– Criminal and legal opposition to crime
and protection of fundamental rights of citizens.
● Intellectual Property.
Institute has a Post-Graduate

● 12.00.08 – Criminal Law and Criminology; Criminal
Procedure Law;
● 12.00.07 – administrative law and process; financial law;
information law;
●
13.00.04 – theory and methods of vocational education.
Also, Institute provides doctoral studies:
● 12.00.07 – administrative law and process, financial law, information law.

provided by 3 departments:

Students
have an opportunity to practice English and study abroad directly in the
language environment in England - Centre for English Language studying Eurospeak Language School.
Lecturers and
students of the the Institute of Law actively participate in international,
national and regional scientific and practical conferences, seminars, round
tables, which are held in other academic institutions.
The Week of Law is
annually held in the Institute (intellectual game "Erudite in Law” for
students, the Rome tournament for first-year students, contests, quizzes, debate
court). Institute students have also an opportunity to prove themselves in
research work. The International Student Conference is annually held in KyIU.
Best students who expressed interest in scientific work are credited to the
Master's and postgraduate studies.

In addition to
theoretical training, students have an opportunity to get practical knowledge in
the local courts, district administrations, pre-trial investigation bodies,
bodies of Notaries, customs, legal departments and State Executive Service.
Bases of practice for future lawyers are local courts in Kyiv, district
administrations, Department of Justice, executive services, law firms.
For practical
learning there are 2 specialized classrooms equipped with the latest
technologies. Lecture room called "Criminalistic ground" was created
for training practical skills in investigating criminal cases. "Judicial
lecture room” is meant for the training trials. Students have a chance to feel
like participants of the process, be in the role of judge, prosecutor or
defender.
There is a Legal
Clinic at the University where students receive citizens and provide legal
services under the guidance of lecturers.
Important role in
the academic process plays a modern educational library, which provides
students with textbooks, codes, regulations, periodicals, teaching aids, books,
lectures teachers.
Scientific
activity
Main area of research − «Protecting human rights: international and national aspects».
Scientific work of lecturers
of the department include:
Ø
problems of human rights and freedoms
of a citizen while applying administrative enforcement measures;
Ø co-operation
between Government and the President of Ukraine;
Ø problems
of adaptation of legislation of Ukraine to EU legislation;
Ø administrative
and legal regulation of public service;
Ø issues
of interaction of state and local budgets in the context of administrative
reform in Ukraine;
Ø issues
of information security of Ukraine;
Ø the
development and establishment of information law as the latest trend of
research.
In
February 21-22, 2009 teaching staff and students of the Institute actively
participated in the XIV International scientific and practical conference
”Ukraine in Euro-integration processes”.
In March 2009 department student conferences were held, after which
students were recommended for participation in the XIV International youth
scientific and practical conference "European way of development of
Ukraine: plans and realities", held in May 16-17, 2009.
Students’
life
Students
of the Institute have practice in the Committees of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,
Administration of President of Ukraine, Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine,
ministries, judicial and law enforcement.
In
the Institute of Law seminars and practical classes are conducted in English,
which enables students to master professional legal terminology.
Students
have an opportunity to actively co-operate with international human rights
organizations, including the International Society for Human Rights, as well as
participate in international conferences and round tables.
In
2004 according to the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of
Ukraine, the Institute introduced a credit-modular system of education that
allows students to show activity not only during examinations, but also
throughout the study.

When Law There
are the following divisions in the Institute of Law:
Criminalistic ground. This classroom is meant for training of practical skills
in investigating criminal cases. Students can watch specialized training films
there; work on crime events; have trainings in methods of
interrogation, the removal of physical evidence etc.


Judicial
lecture room is meant for training trials. Students have an opportunity to
feel like participants of a trial, be in the role of judge, prosecutor or
defender.

Legal Clinic is made after the model of law firm
that provides services to the public. Students with the head
of the clinic receive citizens providing legal advice under and helping to
draft documents.
