Extensive professional knowledge of the specialty is formed of the

Introduction to building, technical mechanics of liquid and gas,
construction mechanics, building materials, engineering graphics, metrology and
standardization, engineering geodesy (general course), engineering geology and
basic soil mechanics, urban planning and transportation, building
constructions: metal, concrete and stone, foundations; construction equipment,
building production technology, organization of building (special course),
building economics, production base of construction, electrotechnology in
building, water supply and sewerage, heat and gas supply and ventilation,
construction and installation of buildings and structures, the resistance of
materials, construction mechanics (special course); bases and foundations,
safety, architecture of buildings and structures.
Students of the Department of Building and Architecture have
practical training in:
– ministries and departments;
– companies and firms of
different ownership forms which apply new technologies in the design,
construction and operation of buildings and structures;
– project organizations;
– investment companies;
– consulting firms;
– building companies.
Practical training consists of:
– introductory teaching
practice (1st year) −
geodetic practice;
– educational practice (2nd
year) − technological practice;
– manufacturing practice (3d
year).
After a full academic course a specialist in
industrial and civil building is prepared to work with:
Ø The development of individual planning decisions;
Ø Usage of space-planning decisions for future
designing;
Ø Assessment of geological features of the construction
site;
Ø The development of building design solutions;
Ø Hydraulic calculations and pipe loads on the building
based on fluid or gas pressure;
Ø Determination of specific issues of water supply,
sewerage, heat and gas supply and ventilation;
Ø The development of economic part of the project;
Ø The development of electro-technical part of the
project;
Ø Building processes and organization of building
production;
Ø Management of building process;
Ø Elaboration of technical information;
Ø Quality of work controlling;
Ø Enforcement of safety and sanitation standards;
Ø Analysis of accidents;
Ø Ensuring the necessary level of personal safety in
case of typical dangerous situations;
Ø Providing protection in case of emergency;
Ø Organization of methods to prevent or reduce the level
of probable damage;

(demolition of buildings, the release of building
lots; excavation, general construction of buildings (new works, works of
replacement, reconstruction and rehabilitation); construction of bridges, road
trestles, tunnels, subways, construction of pipelines, communication lines and
power supply, construction of pipelines laying power lines, extra work;
construction of power plants, mining and manufacturing, construction and other
engineering structures not classified in other groups (intake, treatment
facilities, spillways, pump stations); installation of prefabricated
constructions, laying of foundations and drilling of wells and pit, concrete

construction works, installation of heating, ventilation and air conditioning,
